AAHRPP Accreditation
Press Release: Thursday, September 11, 2008
Today, HOPE Research Institute received full accreditation by the Association for
the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). HOPE is the first
independent, private clinical research site in the nation to receive this
prestigious accreditation. AAHRPP accreditation confirms that standards for the
protection of human study participants is paramount in study operations at HOPE.
Full accreditation is the culmination of almost two years of preparation by HOPE
Research's investigators and staff members. Having many of the standards already in
operation, HOPE's efforts involved developing written policy that supported the high
standards practiced by researchers at HOPE. Achieving accreditation as a unique site
was "like fitting a square peg into a round hole," but at the end of the day, it
places HOPE at the forefront of research visionaries.
HOPE Research Institute was notified of certification personally by Marjorie Speers,
PhD, Executive Director of the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research
Protection Programs (AAHRPP).
