Long time Phoenix physician and surgeon, Dr. Jon Zoltan is a board- certified orthopedic surgeon and NIH certified clinical trial investigator. Dr. Zoltan spearheads the clinical research study program at The Orthopedic Clinic Association (TOCA). Dr. Zoltan's dynamic career as one of the Valley's most respected orthopedic surgeons includes contributions as Clinical Instructor and Lecturer for local residency programs. With a large, busy general orthopedic practice, Dr. Zoltan's participation as the Principal Investigator for leading pharmaceutical and device companies brings novel medical approaches and opportunities to Valley residents. Dr. Zoltan is a busy family man, sports enthusiast and community leader.

Dr. Anikar Chhabra often works with Dr. Jon Zoltan in the conduct of successful orthopedic studies. Dr. Chhabra is s board-certified national expert in the field of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. His background includes cum laude distinction at Harvard University and dual advanced degrees. Dr. Chhabra's studies focused on tendon injuries in athletes, arthroscopic technique, and orthopedic sports medicine. In his current practice, Dr. Chhabra specializes in arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, minimally invasive surgery and sports- related injuries. He is an expert in the treatment of complex disorders of the knee such as multiple ligament injuries, articular cartilage procedures, osteotomies, unicompartmental knee replacements, total knee replacements, and meniscal transplants.

Dr. Chhabra has authored numerous clinical and scientific orthopedic publications, has served as a speaker for several national orthopedic conferences, and has received many clinical and research awards.

As one of the Valley's leading board-certified orthopedic surgeons, HOPE Research Institute is privileged to partner with Sherwood Duhon, M.D., in the conduct of orthopedic clinical trials. Dr. Duhon's popularity makes him one of the busiest orthopedic surgeons in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Dr. Duhon works in general orthopedics but has a special surgical focus on hip and knee arthroplasty. As a successful Principal Investigator in post-op pain studies, Dr. Duhon has been awarded "top enrollment" status on several occasions. Dr. Duhon's large clinical practice is associated with TOCA. Dr. Duhon is NIH certified in the conduct of clinical trials and conducts both in-patient and out-patient studies in the orthopedic therapeutic arena.

Dr. Joseph Haber is one of TOCA's most successful orthopedic study investigators. As a board-certified hand and plastic surgeon, Dr. Haber's unique practice lends itself to successful enrollment of qualified study subjects who suffer with unique maladies including osteoarthritis, congenital deformities and much more. Dr. Haber partners with HOPE Research Institute to perform as an exemplary researcher and has proven himself as a top enroller in studies with challenging indications such as Dupuytren's Contracture. Dr. Haber's extensive knowledge and experience have earned him publications in medical journals and opportunities to serve the Valley's medical community as an opinion leader. Dr. Haber holds active memberships in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Society for Plastic Surgery.

A leader in study enrollment and patient satisfaction at TOCA, Dr. Beth Purdy stands tall. With specialized training at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Purdy is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. She is a noted speaker and has presented on various topics in hand surgery. Dr. Purdy is also an active orthopedic instructor, teaching orthopedic residents about the treatment of congenital hand abnormalities. Dr. Purdy is an enthusiastic member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Maricopa Medical Society. HOPE is proud to note that Dr. Purdy was the first woman to complete her residency in orthopedic surgery from Summa Health System in Ohio. Way to go, Dr. Purdy!

HOPE Research Institute boasts an affiliation with Dr. Josh Vella, an orthopedic physician and surgeon specializing in Hand, Wrist and Upper Extremity orthopedics. Dr. Vella's professional alliance with the dynamic group of TOCA investigators provides for unparalleled success for study performance. Dr. Vella's strong background in the treatment of conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and ganglion complications has earned him respect as a top study investigator. Dr. Vella's enthusiasm for clinical research offers his patients access to novel therapeutic investigations and dynamic opportunities for exploration to his peers. Dr. Vella is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jon Whisler, teams up with Dr. Jon Zoltan to execute successful clinical research studies in the clinical practice of orthopedics. As a Vietnam veteran and long standing member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Whisler's experience runs the gamet from surgical intervention for acute traumatic injury to providing care for chronic disease states. Dr. Whisler's busy practice in general orthopedics is the perfect place for studies involving osteoarthritis, joint pain, fracture healing, degenerative joint disease, and the like.
