Women's Health

Women's Health Research is represented by some of the Valley's most popular and skilled OB/GYN physicians and surgeons. HOPE participates in studies that both involve pharmaceuticals and devices. Study experience includes contraception, fertility, sterilization, hormone therapy, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, cervical cancer, obstetric care, infectious complications, and ablation therapy.

HOPE is proud to boast an affiliation with Dr. David Kells, the newest physician to join HOPE's expanding team of clinical investigators. Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Kells is one of today's leading women's health physicians in the greater Phoenix metro area; his 2009 designation as "Top Doc" by Phoenix Magazine certainly attests to his achievements and notable status in the health care community. Dr. Kells serves on two quality review committees at local hospitals and holds the prestigious post of a Physician Champion on the Perinatal Committee at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Having practiced medicine for over 20 years, Dr. Kells has a large practice and access to a diverse patient population; he is well positioned to successfully conduct all types of women's health studies. Dr. Kells is excited to be at the forefront of clinical research as he seeks to offer his patients new and exciting therapies within his practice. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

HOPE Research Institute is privileged to partner with Allan T. Sawyer, M.D., a certified and experienced clinical investigator, and board certified physician and surgeon. Dr. Sawyer has been in the private practice of obstetrics and gynecology in Glendale, Arizona since 1992. In addition to his devotion to quality care of patients in Arizona, he also actively works to improve the quality of care of patients nationally. While serving on the editorial committees with The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (www.acog.org) he was instrumental in writing ACOG's Guidelines for Perinatal Care (5th edition, released November 2002) and Planning Your Pregnancy and Birth. He presently serves as Chairman on ACOG's Committee on Coding and Nomenclature, and has previously served on the Committee on Obstetric Practice and the Committee on Practice Management. Dr. Sawyer has previously been awarded Phoenix Magazine's "Top Doc" award. Dr. Sawyer is currently the chairman of the Bioethics Committee at Thunderbird Samaritan Medical Center.
